It is hard to believe that a year ago Mike was driving us across the country in the camper. That was the coolest trip as we made our way east, stopping along the way to get out and run on the back roads. Mike was soooo patient with us. He would open the door out in the country somewhere and we would just jump right out and take off. OK, Shelby would jump out and I would fall the twelve inches from the running board to the ground. It's hard having a dachshund for a parent. But boy once I was on the ground I could run, and run I would. I can still feel the air rushing under my ears as they flopped in the breeze. Yes, just one short year ago.
And now we are in Newton, NC with a big softball field right next to the house, a beautiful flower garden just out the side door, and the big veggie garden in back. Seeing the flowers come up and the sprouts break ground in the garden reminds me of the new beginnings of life. New chances to experience the wonderfully creative hands of almighty God, who gives us all we really need, is the blessing of each day. Certainly there are challenges, but God's grace bestowed upon us sees us through...Wow, pretty theologically insightful for a dog, eh?
Anyway, another year brings us a new perspective on life at the crossroads. Thanks for checkin' in.
